Hello people. Sorry for the 2 month hiatus. I had to move to another city and hence
couldnt find the time nor a computer to work on TAOC.....and Paul on the other hand
was caught up with his work and social life.

We have a special update to announce very soon, which is essentially a presentational enhancement, but a critical one that solves many issues and bugs that were causing massive headaches. Stay tuned. expect this to be announced in a week or so.

I think i can officially say things are well back on track now!

This Would Be My Work List :-

- Working on the Special Update. (IN-Progress)

- Improve Batting Anims
- Create Asgiriya Stadium Kandy.
- Add Stadium Landscapes.
- Fix up Eden Park NZ Texturing
- Fix up Eden Gardens Kolkata and add trees etc..
- Improve/Add Bowling & Fielding Anims.
- Create Johannesburg Stadium
- Add Celebration/Disappointment Anims
- Create Barbados Stadium
- Create Dhaka Stadium

cheers and keep up the support !!

JK

We have a forum from 2+ year may be more then that an update once in blue moon may kill the enzity.
I know it would take time its no easy thing but may be more regular updates and things to keep ppl curious is the need of hr
what say ?

your absolutely right....as far as my observation goes, the excitement levels among the
members has dipped significantly in the last 6 months or so...but one has to understand that
ONLY 2 people are working on a full fledged 3D cricket game part time with their social and work
life coming in the way all the time and add to that we are not even getting paid !!

but we've pulled up our socks and will try our best to complete this game asap without any
big breaks in-between

ok...here are the replies to your queries / suggestions :-

Question : 1. With such a good concept i see TOAC at cery few places, i mean its not on people's lips, there are ppl asking question on net today when is the new version of EA SPORTS or CODEMASTER coming, they should be knowing abt TOAC Huh? What say Huh?

well, the game is known to most members @ www.planetcricket.net which is where the game was
first announced ! Wink and we arent actually concentrating on advertising as we need to first complete
a certain % of the game. we'll be going all out on advertisement around 3-4 months before the release
of the game....!

Question : 2. Very few update on the progress hence the question when is the game hitting the market.

already answered in my previous post ! Wink

Question : 3. If you are planning to give it for free, just spread this word and see the response.

its most likely to be free.....refer to answer 1

Suggession 1 : Allow created players to be added to country squad with ease, people love to play themselves in the game, I really do love that. Also allow to rename players name; in BLC 2007 that the most pathetice thing one
likes to play with big names and not spelling mistake of Dhoni and Yuvraj in the game.

Suggession 2 : If Possible allow kit to be customized i dont mean fancy items give abt 8-10 standard format and all people can customize would be color from a platte should not be too tedious i guess.

@suggestion 1 & 2 - one of the forte of this game is that is easily customizable !! Cheesy
check out this post :-
http://www.planetcricket.net/forums/showthread.php?t=31567

Suggession 3 : In Practise net actually educate the user how to bowl different deliveries or play certain shot, give simple suggession in text should the ideal keys to be used would minimize the development task considerably.

yes, we are planning on doing this soon....!! Smiley

Suggession 4 : Show toss spun at the start of a match if possible a small video of team attending national anthem in important tournaments.

hmmm.....lets see...we havent really thought about this, but yes, its definitely worth looking into.

Suggession 5 : Small incident like somebody in the crowd having a banner like 6+4=10dulkar

sorry but atm..the crowd isnt detailed & more or less rolled over the stands :p as they arent
the priority right now...!! but when we do detailed ones, you can see more of such banners...

Suggession 6 : A batsman can select if he wants to go out to bat with a helmet or a cap. Also option to choose in between his innings

yes, this would definitely be there.....Smiley

Suggession 7 : Crowd picking up the sound level as the home team bolwer charges in, crowd can again be a area making this game intresting which has not been the case with other games, by crowd i mean the sound and lift which a home team wants, drums, dj's, claps woudl make it intresting.

i wont commit to this as we havent touched sound as of yet, but when we do, i'll get back to ya ! Smiley

Suggession 8 : Filder diving to both side and looking realistic, may be i asking for 2 much but it would make it more exciting.
Also a good stop should be replayed with a good zoom angle, like a car jump perfectly shown in NFS Smiley

well...the fielding is really giving massive headaches...even getting the basics right is proving to be
really tormenting. fieldings at a halt for now...but will resume after sometime when we've covered
other aspects of the game Wink

Suggession 9 : Drinks van on the ground, in test match provide a option to take a new ball after 80 overs (i have not seen this in any cricket games)

not sure about drinks van but you SHOULD be able to opt for a new ball after 80 overs.

Suggession 10 : Make the wicket-keeper cherpy one who speaks and encourages the bolwer.

refer to answer 7

Suggession 11 : Players hand shake after the game Give a trophy to the man of the match at the end of a game and winning trophy to the winning captain with some standard 1 or 2 voice chat; a team celebration video, its a amazing feeling to see the team celebration as a player i can tell you that for sure.

sorry...but presentation ceremony and the likes wont be available for the first version...
may be in the future !

Suggession 12 : Tension in the dressing room when teams not doing well, dressing room standing up for a hundred or a wicket. would make the game intense.

refer to answer 5

Suggession 13 : Can we have more images uploaded the once on the site are very old. Please upload images of spectacular catch, shot, wicket and day-nigh matches as the turf u have would look cool under lights.

we'll be posting new pix by next week hopefully, so be sure to check it out and post your feedback ! Smiley

cheers

JK

I was reading this guy making all kinds of suggestions. Now seriously, if u as developers of this game "TAOC" didn't laugh at these suggestions, I will be surprised. Some of these suggestions are,  A batman gets to choose his head gear, i.e. a cap or helmet, special celebrations for winning teams, dressing room controversies (this just keeps getting better and better) and my favourite, banners written "6+4=10dulkar."
Now honestly, who ever wrote these, did u read what u have penned down? Just imagine all these "suggestions" implemented in all those bad cricket games u have played in the past. Will that change anything? "NO", absolutely not, they would still be bad cricket games.
Now, I have some suggestions and advice to give to the developers.

Advice: Don't worry about graphics, crowd animations and trivial things. I believe no matter how great ur graphics looks, the commercial companies can do better quite easily as they have huge resources. So, try and improve the gameplay. We can understand how valuable contributions u people r making out there to the history of cricket games. We as supporters of ur work, are willing to compromise on graphical details for improved gameplay.

Suggestions:
a) Try making the game realistic. In an real life cricket match even the most attacking teams do not hit 50 sixes in 50 overs. So, make six hitting and timing lofted shorts a hard work. Let the batsman work for his runs. So, make the batsman find gaps and hit fours instead of sixes to score quickly. Moreover, emphasis should be laid on accumulating singles and twos instead of big shots.

b) There must always be a Third man and Deep Fine leg in ODIs and a Deep Fine leg for Tests with optional third man. In real life cricket, the opposition captain never leaves these areas vacant.

c) Fast bowlers must have pace in their bowling. It will make timing the ball a little difficult specially for lofted shots.

d) Established teams should always bowl at better lengths and lines compared to weaker teams. This means, the Australian bowling attack is much more capable of keeping the runs down by bowling at one side of the wicket and pressuring the batsman rather than Zimbabwe.

This should make a lot of difference in ur game. If u can reply back and answer what do u think about these suggestions I will be obliged. If u can't then I can understand.

Hi JK,

I had a game suggestion please test thoroughly that a bowler is not allowed to bowl more then his quota in a game i.e. 10 overs in a 50-over game and 4 in 20-20 it happens a lot in EA 2007.

Hello bumba i don't know ur name hence used your id.

Well i guess u are a new comer to cricket all suggestions you made are already present in games we have so far.
If you are actually new go to planet cricket and you would get patches for everything you asked for.

Who are you to comment on somebody i asked what i wanted to the developer. You are free to give your suggestions but should not comment on anybody else. Also if you are knowledgeable enough check out the feature list i read that first knew what the game was offering that's emphasis on game play and hence provided what could be included in the game; read once again what i wrote.

And few if not most of the things are already there that's what JK replied so keep your comments with yourself ... thank you.

ALL OF THE ABOVE will be there in the game ! Smiley
